The Amazon

Watch on YouTube

Field notes

On the very first episode of ‘The First Explorers’ we follow the South American expedition of Francisco de Orellana across the Amazon, 1541-1542. Learn about the ancient cities, hidden civilizations, female Amazon warriors, cannibals & much more - that were discovered during the first documented exploration of the Amazon…

‘The First Explorers’ series is intended to bring to life the word-for-word firsthand accounts from explorers on the edges of the world…

A great source for this story: “River of Darkness” by Buddy Levy
