An explorer in the family business
Luke "Caverns" Reagan is an American explorer with a degree in anthropology and a History Channel guest expert.
He comes from a lineage of explorers and antiquarians who searched for lost Spanish treasure in the American Southwest as far back as the 1890s.
He grew up on a country homestead in East Texas, where his family raised southern and exotic animals. That childhood, and years spent studying the Maya and the Olmec (who revered the jaguar), are why he also digs into the lost history of the jaguar and the other big cats.
On the channel he goes to the places himself, from unexcavated Maya cities in Campeche to an eleven-day unsupported trek through New Mexico's Gila Wilderness. He also digs up the firsthand journals of the explorers who got there first and reads them back, word for word.
